After interviewing two couples for his documentary on relationships, Trace begins to analyze the relationships and connections in his own life. He quickly abandons the film altogether, falling into a humorless blend of well-wined depression and existential panic.

However, a long-distance and entirely digital relationship with Jessica, who lives 2,000 miles across the country, suddenly has the potential to become something much more, pulling Trace back into the film.

And back into life.
